How to Prepare Oily Cement for Painting

Mix the water and dried TSP onto the cement working with a nylon scrub brush until it’s shaped a stiff paste. Scrubbing the paste into the concrete until the stain starts to dissolve.

Allow paste to sit on the surface of the cement for 30 minutes so that it can keep on absorbing the oil stain.

Rinse the TSP from the surface of the cement using a hose.

Analyze the area that was greasy to ensure the entire stain has been lifted. If it is still stained, then repeat the procedure with the TSP before the entire oil spot is eliminated.

Permit the wet cement to dry thoroughly before beginning the staining procedure.
