Staining concrete can add colour and assist disguise unsightly stains and imperfections onto your driveway, garage floor or sidewalk. Though”cement” and”concrete” are frequently used to mean the same thing, cement is merely an ingredient in concrete; it is a binder. Examine the concrete surface for wet petroleum stains. Sprinkle kitty litter over the oil and allow to sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the excess oil.

Sweep the entire surface thoroughly to remove excess dirt and any remaining kitty litter. If the oily stain is still gone, begin the cleaning procedure. If not, apply more clutter before the oil is gone.

Sprinkle dry trisoduim phosphate (TSP) on the stain. Add water into the TSP a few drops at a time.

Mix the water and dried TSP onto the cement working with a nylon scrub brush until it’s shaped a stiff paste. Scrubbing the paste into the concrete until the stain starts to dissolve.

Allow paste to sit on the surface of the cement for 30 minutes so that it can keep on absorbing the oil stain.

Rinse the TSP from the surface of the cement using a hose.

Analyze the area that was greasy to ensure the entire stain has been lifted. If it is still stained, then repeat the procedure with the TSP before the entire oil spot is eliminated.

Permit the wet cement to dry thoroughly before beginning the staining procedure.
