Egyptian-cotton sheets, particularly those using a high-thread count, are prized for softness and durability. These sheets get softer over time, but may not feel very soft when they’re new and straight from the bundle, due to substances embedded in the fabric throughout production. Washing out the substances renders those sheets cozy and soft.

Baking Soda Softener

Placing the sheets in the wash and running them through a normal cycle using baking soda replacing the laundry detergent helps remove fabricating chemicals from the cloth. 1 cup of baking soda does the trick, followed by a cup of white vinegar through the rinse cycle. Warm water is suitable for the wash however put it to cold throughout the rinse. Line-dry the sheets, then wash them with detergent and dry in the dryer.

Due to the quality of cotton fibers utilized, Egyptian-cotton sheets often last a lot more than a few less expensive types of sheets.
